Version 1.0.0
7 August 2026Latest
The first release - storyboard panels drawn straight in the DaVinci Resolve viewer, on a timeline you can play back.
Drawing
- Four pens. Pencil with real graphite texture and pressure, brush, a highlighter that multiplies so lines show through, and a proper eraser.
- Tablet pressure throughout, with a smoothing dial that takes the wobble out on release.
- 31 shapes including full camera-move notation: pan, tilt, push in, pull out, zoom, dolly, pedestal, crane, whip pan, handheld, roll, follow, hold. Plus arrows, primitives, speech bubbles, trees and figures.
- Four shape slots on the toolbar, loadable from a picker and fired with Shift / Ctrl / Alt / Shift+Alt.
- Fill as a one-click toggle, always on for freehand custom shapes.
- Three inks per pen. The colour wheel opens by clicking the ink you're on.
Layers & animation
- Four layers, each with visibility, opacity and its own transform.
- Move, scale and rotate whole layers, with a rotation pivot that stays put when you keep drawing.
- Anims. Drag a ghost to say where a layer flies in from, with easing, zoom and spin. Both start and end boxes are draggable, and one button swaps them.
- Onion skin for animating between panels.
- Flip horizontal and vertical per layer.
The card
- Paper stocks with real pulp, tooth and fibre: cartridge, cold press, office laser, tracing, laid.
- Canvas ratio and size presets, borders, thirds/grid guides, action-safe frame.
- Full overlay mode. Turn the background off and only your ink renders over the footage.
Text & reuse
- Multiline textboxes with real system fonts, per-textbox typeface, word wrap and a draggable box. MSDF rendering keeps text crisp at any resolution.
- Preset library on disk, filed by project. Save a character once, drop him into any board.
- Copy and paste layers via the system clipboard - crosses projects, machines and restarts.
- Export and import .sbl files to share or archive.
Companion panel
- A floating window on the Colour page. Step between panels, add and duplicate them, rename the whole board in one click, and export every panel as PNG or JPEG.
